WHAT IS VELVET?

VELVET brings exceptional live performance into intimate, atmospheric spaces where audiences experience the artists up close.

Programmes draw from classical, neoclassical, cinematic, ambient and contemporary music, with different combinations of artists created for different performances.

Selected programmes may also incorporate dance and movement as part of the live experience.

WHO WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM?

Musicians, vocalists and dancers of all kinds are welcome.

We’re interested in classical and contemporary instrumentalists, singers, chamber and crossover performers, dancers from a range of styles, unusual instruments and artists whose work doesn’t fit neatly into a category.

Established professionals, emerging professionals and advanced tertiary-level performers are welcome.

We’re looking for strong artistry, individuality, musical or movement sensitivity, stage presence, professionalism and reliability.

Most importantly, we want to discover what makes you distinctive as a performer.

PAID PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

VELVET is a professional, paid performance opportunity.

Engagements and fees will vary according to the programme, instrumentation, venue and performance requirements.

Selected artists may be invited for an individual VELVET programme or considered for future VELVET and KRE8TIV productions.

We review every expression of interest. If we see a potential fit for a VELVET programme, we'll contact you directly to discuss the project, availability, performance requirements and fee.

No separate audition is required unless requested.
